G protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) are the largest class of membrane proteins in the human genome and are involved in a variety of signal transduction processes. The main function of G protein-coupled receptors is to transmit information from outside the cell to inside the cell by interacting with G proteins. These receptors act as intracellular mediators and can regulate complex network pathways. The researchers expect that one-third to one-half of all drugs on the market will target the GPCR receptor. GPCR receptors play a particularly important role in the body, and further understanding of these receptors will also have a certain impact on modern medicine.
