Cardiovascular Agents
Cardiovascular agents are drugs used to treat diseases related to the heart or circulatory systems (blood vessels), such as arrhythmia, thrombosis, coronary artery disease, hypertension or hypotension, high cholesterol, heart failure and stroke. They also include antiplatelet and anticoagulant drugs that are essential for preventing cardiogenic embolism. Due to the widespread incidence of cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular agents are widely used in the clinic. The goal of cardiovascular agents is to improve myocardial contractility enough to improve SV and subsequent positive blood flow without aggravating or causing acute myocardial infarction.
