Glutathione S-Transferase Agents
Glutathione S-transferase (GST) is a protein family with a variety of physiological functions, involved in the metabolism of a variety of xenobiotics and endogenous compounds, mainly in the cytoplasm. Glutathione S-Transferase Agents act on the body’s attenuated enzyme system, mainly catalyzing the combination of various chemicals and their metabolites with the sulfhydryl group of GSH, converting electrophilic compounds into hydrophilic compounds, which are easy to be excreted from bile or urine, thereby achieving the purpose of degrading and excreting various potentially or toxic substances in the body.
