Pectenotoxin-2 (Cat No.:T000167) is a marine-derived polyether macrolide toxin produced by dinoflagellates of the Dinophysis genus. It is a key component of diarrhetic shellfish poisoning (DSP) toxins and is primarily found in contaminated shellfish. PTX-2 exhibits potent cytotoxic activity by disrupting actin filament organization, making it valuable in cancer research and studies of cytoskeletal dynamics. Due to its toxicity, it is used in environmental monitoring and toxicological risk assessments. Supplied at high purity, Pectenotoxin-2 is ideal for marine toxin research, biochemical analysis, and regulatory reference testing.
