VPC-80051 racemate（Cat No.:I038114）is a small-molecule inhibitor developed to target the steroidogenic enzyme cytochrome P450 17A1 (CYP17A1), which plays a critical role in androgen biosynthesis. By inhibiting both 17α-hydroxylase and 17,20-lyase activities of CYP17A1, VPC-80051 effectively reduces androgen production, making it a potential therapeutic agent for androgen-dependent diseases such as prostate cancer. The racemic form contains a mixture of enantiomers, which may exhibit differing pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties. Preclinical studies suggest VPC-80051 racemate may offer improved efficacy and safety profiles compared to existing CYP17A1 inhibitors in hormone-driven cancers.
