TVP1022 (Cat No.: I002394) is the S-enantiomer of rasagiline, originally developed as a neuroprotective and cardioprotective agent. It modulates mitochondrial function and inhibits apoptosis, making it a candidate for treating neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases. TVP1022 exhibits cytoprotective effects without significant monoamine oxidase B (MAO-B) inhibition, distinguishing it from rasagiline. Preclinical studies have shown potential benefits in myocardial infarction, heart failure, and neuronal injury models. Though not yet approved for clinical use, it remains of interest in research on cell survival and mitochondrial pathways.
