Sodium Dichloroacetate (CAT: I009546), also known as CPC-211; DCA; X-11S, acts as an inhibitor of pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase (PDK), which leads to the reactivation of pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) enzyme and promotes the oxidation of glucose in the mitochondria. This metabolic shift towards oxidative metabolism has been suggested to inhibit the growth of cancer cells and restore their susceptibility to apoptosis.
