Saxagliptin hydrochloride(Cat No.:I014674)is an orally active antidiabetic agent that functions as a selective, reversible inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4). By blocking DPP-4, it prevents the degradation of incretin hormones such as GLP-1 and GIP, thereby enhancing insulin secretion and reducing glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner. This leads to improved glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes. The hydrochloride salt form enhances stability and handling. In research, saxagliptin hydrochloride is widely used to study incretin biology, glucose metabolism, and therapeutic strategies for diabetes and metabolic disorders.
