Piretanide(Cat No.:R047504)is a potent loop diuretic used to treat edema associated with congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and renal disease, as well as hypertension. Structurally related to furosemide, it acts on the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle in the kidneys, inhibiting the Na⁺/K⁺/2Cl⁻ co-transporter. This action increases the excretion of sodium, chloride, and water, resulting in rapid diuresis and reduced blood volume. Piretanide is orally active, has a relatively short half-life, and is known for its strong natriuretic effect with minimal metabolic side effects when properly dosed.
