MPC, or 2-Methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine (Cat No.: M012428), is a biomimetic monomer that mimics the structure of phospholipid headgroups found in cell membranes. Renowned for its excellent biocompatibility and hydrophilicity, MPC is widely used in biomedical applications, including contact lenses, drug delivery systems, and implant coatings. Its zwitterionic nature resists protein adsorption and cell adhesion, reducing immune responses and biofouling. MPC-based polymers form stable, non-thrombogenic surfaces, making them ideal for medical devices and tissue engineering, where enhanced biostability and reduced biological interaction are critical.
