Miravirsen (Cat No.: I045367) is an investigational antisense oligonucleotide designed to inhibit microRNA-122 (miR-122), a liver-specific microRNA essential for hepatitis C virus (HCV) replication. By binding to and sequestering miR-122, miravirsen disrupts the viral life cycle, reducing HCV RNA levels in infected individuals. It offers a novel, host-targeted antiviral strategy with a high barrier to resistance. Administered via subcutaneous injection, miravirsen has shown promising results in early clinical trials and represents a potential treatment option for chronic HCV infection, especially in resistant cases.
