Levobetaxolol hydrochloride(Cat No.:A000791)is the hydrochloride salt form of levobetaxolol, a selective β₁-adrenergic receptor blocker used primarily in ophthalmology. It is the (S)-enantiomer of betaxolol and is administered as eye drops to reduce intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. By selectively inhibiting β₁-receptors in the ciliary body, it decreases aqueous humor production with minimal systemic β₂-related side effects. Levobetaxolol HCl offers a favorable safety profile, including reduced risk of respiratory complications, and is also noted for potential neuroprotective properties in glaucoma management.
