Isobutyl-deoxynyboquinone (Cat No.:I044357) is a synthetic quinone-based compound engineered as a potent anticancer agent through bioactivation by the enzyme NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1), which is overexpressed in many tumors. Upon enzymatic reduction, IB-DNQ undergoes redox cycling, generating high levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that induce oxidative DNA damage and cell death selectively in NQO1-positive cancer cells. Its mechanism exploits tumor-specific vulnerabilities while sparing normal tissues. Preclinical studies have shown strong efficacy against solid tumors, positioning IB-DNQ as a promising candidate for targeted oxidative chemotherapy with a favorable therapeutic index.
