DMAT(CAT: I004781), also known as 2-dimethylamino-4,5,6,7-tetrabromo-1H-benzimidazole, is a potent and selective inhibitor of protein kinases, particularly CK2 (casein kinase 2). It acts by competitively binding to the ATP-binding pocket of CK2, preventing its activity and downstream signaling. DMAT has been widely used as a research tool to study the role of CK2 in various cellular processes, including cell growth, proliferation, and apoptosis. Furthermore, DMAT has shown potential therapeutic applications in cancer treatment due to its ability to inhibit CK2, which is often dysregulated in cancer cells and contributes to their survival and proliferation.
