As a lipid-lowering drug, clofibrate can inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol and triglycerides, increase the excretion of sterols, reduce the content of VLDL in blood, and reduce the content of plasma chemicalbook fibrinogen and the viscosity of platelets. Therefore, it is beneficial to prevent thrombosis and reduce the incidence of myocardial infarction. It is used for hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis.
