Barium Titanate is a versatile pyroelectric and piezoelectric perovskite material widely applied in capacitors, transducers, and optical devices. Adopting the ABX₃ perovskite structure, it exists in cubic, tetragonal, orthorhombic, and rhombohedral polymorphs, with the cubic phase commonly available. Beyond traditional electronics, barium titanate has gained attention in battery research as both a cathode material and electrolyte additive in lithium-ion and solid-state batteries. It suppresses lithium dendrite formation, enhances cycle life, and delivers reversible capacities of 103.2 mAh·g⁻¹ over 500 cycles at 1C. As an electrolyte additive, it significantly improves ionic conductivity to 1.5 × 10⁻⁴ S·cm⁻¹ at 25 °C.
