5-Hydroxylansoprazole(CAT: M116098) is a primary oxidative metabolite of Lansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) widely used in the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger–Ellison syndrome. Formed mainly via CYP2C19- and CYP3A4-mediated metabolism, 5-Hydroxylansoprazole plays a role in the biotransformation and pharmacokinetic profiling of lansoprazole. While pharmacologically less active than the parent compound, it serves as an important biomarker metabolite in drug metabolism, safety, and therapeutic monitoring studies. 5-Hydroxylansoprazole is commonly applied in pharmacology, drug metabolism, and clinical pharmacokinetics research to better understand PPI disposition and variability in patient response.
