Zifanocycline (KBP-7072) TFA(CAT: I040327) is an orally active, semi-synthetic aminomethylcycline antibiotic that exerts its antibacterial effect by inhibiting protein synthesis through binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit. As a next-generation tetracycline derivative, it exhibits broad-spectrum in vitro activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, including multidrug-resistant strains such as MRSA, VRE, and ESBL-producing bacteria. Zifanocycline TFA is under investigation for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI), community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP), and complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI). It offers a promising tool for antimicrobial resistance research and infectious disease modeling.
