Z-Glu(OtBu)-OH(Cat No.:L023501)is a protected form of the amino acid glutamic acid, widely used in peptide synthesis. The Z (benzyloxycarbonyl) group protects the α-amino group, while the OtBu (tert-butyl ester) protects the γ-carboxyl side chain, leaving the α-carboxylic acid free for coupling. This orthogonal protection allows for selective deprotection and stepwise peptide assembly. Z-Glu(OtBu)-OH is particularly valuable in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) and in creating modified peptides with controlled structural and functional properties. It offers stability and versatility in constructing complex peptide chains.
