Valethamate bromide(Cat No.:I037941)is an anticholinergic and antispasmodic agent primarily used to facilitate cervical dilation during labor by relaxing smooth muscles. It acts by blocking muscarinic receptors, thereby inhibiting parasympathetic stimulation and reducing uterine spasms and gastrointestinal motility. Valethamate bromide helps shorten the first stage of labor and is also used to relieve spasms in conditions like irritable bowel syndrome and biliary or renal colic. It is generally administered via intramuscular injection and has a rapid onset of action. Common side effects include dry mouth, blurred vision, and tachycardia.
