Uprifosbuvir (Cat No.:I009961) is an investigational antiviral agent developed by Merck for the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. As a nucleotide analog, it functions as a prodrug that inhibits the NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, a crucial enzyme for viral replication. Uprifosbuvir has demonstrated broad-spectrum activity against HCV genotypes 1 through 6 and has been evaluated in combination with other direct-acting antivirals in Phase I–III clinical trials. A new synthesis route has improved its production efficiency, enhancing its accessibility for research and potential therapeutic use.
