Umifenovir hydrochloride (Cat No.: I046408), also known as Arbidol hydrochloride, is an antiviral drug used primarily in Russia and China to treat and prevent influenza and other respiratory viral infections. It inhibits membrane fusion between the virus and host cell, blocking viral entry and replication. Umifenovir also exhibits immunomodulatory properties, enhancing the body’s antiviral defenses. Administered orally, it is generally well-tolerated, with mild side effects such as nausea or allergic reactions. Its efficacy against other viruses, including coronaviruses, is under ongoing investigation.
