Thiol-PEG6-alcohol(CAT: I016351) is a heterobifunctional polyethylene glycol (PEG) linker featuring a thiol group on one end and a hydroxyl group on the other, separated by a six-unit PEG chain. The thiol moiety allows selective conjugation with maleimide-, haloacetyl-, or gold-surface groups, forming stable thioether or thiolate linkages. The hydroxyl group provides a versatile site for further chemical modification or activation into esters, carbamates, or other reactive derivatives. The PEG6 spacer imparts flexibility, hydrophilicity, and solubility while minimizing steric hindrance. This reagent is widely used in bioconjugation, nanomaterial functionalization, surface engineering, and drug delivery applications where medium-length PEG linkers are required.
