Teprasiran (Cat No.: I045368) is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic designed to temporarily inhibit the expression of p53, a protein involved in regulating cell death. By silencing p53 activity, teprasiran aims to protect healthy kidney cells from injury-related apoptosis, particularly in acute kidney injury (AKI) following cardiac surgery or renal transplantation. Administered intravenously, it provides transient protection during high-risk periods without long-term genetic modification. Teprasiran represents a novel RNA-based strategy for preventing or mitigating acute kidney damage.
