Suc-AAPF-AMC (CAT: I040630) is a fluorogenic peptide substrate commonly used to measure chymotrypsin-like protease activity, particularly that of the proteasome’s β5 subunit. Upon enzymatic cleavage at the phenylalanine residue, the AMC (7-amido-4-methylcoumarin) moiety is released, producing a measurable fluorescent signal. This substrate is widely used in high-throughput screening, enzymology, and inhibitor profiling to assess proteasomal function and to evaluate the efficacy of protease inhibitors. Its sensitivity, specificity, and compatibility with kinetic fluorescence assays make it a valuable tool in cancer, neurodegeneration, and cell biology research.
