SR17018(CAT: I014687) is a potent and selective μ-opioid receptor (MOR) agonist with an EC₅₀ of 97 nM in GTPγS binding assays, indicating strong activation of G protein-coupled signaling pathways. Notably, SR17018 does not induce significant β-arrestin2 recruitment at concentrations below 10 μM, demonstrating a functionally biased profile favoring G protein signaling over β-arrestin-mediated pathways. This bias is of particular interest in opioid research, as it may reduce adverse effects such as respiratory depression and tolerance. SR17018 serves as a valuable tool compound for investigating biased agonism at the MOR and for the development of next-generation, safer analgesics.
