SLx-4090（Cat No.:I007487）is an investigational, orally active small-molecule inhibitor of microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP), developed by Surface Logix. It selectively targets MTP in intestinal enterocytes, reducing the formation of chylomicrons and thereby limiting dietary triglyceride and cholesterol absorption into systemic circulation. Unlike earlier MTP inhibitors, SLx-4090 is designed to avoid systemic exposure, minimizing hepatic toxicity risks. In Phase 2 clinical trials, it significantly lowered postprandial triglycerides and LDL cholesterol, and also promoted weight loss without affecting liver enzymes. SLx-4090 has been explored for treating dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes, and obesity.
