Rosin(Cat No.:R072705), also known as colophony, is a brittle, amber-colored solid resin obtained from the distillation of pine tree oleoresin. Composed mainly of abietic acid and related compounds, it is widely used in adhesives, varnishes, inks, soldering fluxes, and rubber compounds. In the music industry, rosin is applied to bows of string instruments to enhance grip. It also finds use in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics as a stabilizer or binding agent. Though naturally derived and biodegradable, rosin may cause skin or respiratory irritation, so proper handling precautions are advised in industrial applications.
