Rhodium(II) acetate dimer(Cat No.:R015729), is a paddlewheel-type coordination complex consisting of two rhodium atoms bridged by four acetate ligands. It is a powerful and selective catalyst widely used in organic synthesis for carbene transfer reactions, such as cyclopropanation, C–H insertion, and ylide formation. The dimeric structure provides exceptional thermal and chemical stability while maintaining high catalytic activity. Typically appearing as a dark green crystalline solid, it is soluble in organic solvents like dichloromethane and chloroform and must be handled under inert atmosphere to prevent oxidation.
