(Rac)-E1R (CAT: I017642) is the racemic form of E1R, a potent sigma-1 receptor positive allosteric modulator (Sig1R PAM). By enhancing sigma-1 receptor activity, (Rac)-E1R modulates neuronal plasticity, a key process in learning, memory, and cognitive function. Sigma-1 receptor signaling has been closely linked to the pathophysiology of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, major depressive disorder, and schizophrenia. As a research tool, (Rac)-E1R enables the study of receptor-mediated mechanisms in cognition and memory, while also providing a foundation for exploring novel therapeutic strategies targeting Sig1R in central nervous system disorders.
