Pyridoxine HCl (Cat No.: A001031), the hydrochloride salt of vitamin B6, is an essential water-soluble vitamin involved in amino acid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, and red blood cell production. It is commonly used to prevent and treat vitamin B6 deficiency, often caused by poor diet, alcoholism, or certain medications. Pyridoxine is also used in combination therapies, such as with doxylamine for pregnancy-related nausea. Available in oral and injectable forms, it is generally well-tolerated. High doses over time may cause sensory neuropathy or nerve damage.
