Phosphoric acid tributyl ester(Cat No.:R015087), also known as tributyl phosphate (TBP), is an organophosphorus compound widely used as a solvent, plasticizer, and extractant. It appears as a colorless to pale yellow oily liquid with low volatility and moderate water solubility. TBP is most notably employed in liquid–liquid extraction processes, particularly for separating rare earth elements and actinides in nuclear fuel reprocessing. It also serves as a flame retardant and processing aid in polymers and resins. Due to its reactivity and environmental persistence, it should be handled under controlled conditions.
