PFN is a conjugated polyelectrolyte widely employed as an electron-interface material in organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices to enhance electron extraction efficiency. By modifying the work function of electrodes and improving interfacial contact, PFN enables more efficient charge transport and reduced energy losses. Devices incorporating PFN have demonstrated power conversion efficiencies of up to 7.1% in current optimization, with reported values reaching as high as 9.2% in the literature. Its versatility, solution processability, and ability to boost device performance make PFN a valuable interfacial layer material in advancing next-generation OPV technologies.
