PCDTBT is a next-generation donor polymer for organic photovoltaics, developed to enhance efficiency and operational lifetime. Its lowered HOMO/LUMO energy levels provide significant advantages, including higher open-circuit voltages, extended absorption into longer wavelengths, and improved environmental stability compared to earlier OPV materials. Notably, PCDTBT demonstrates excellent resistance under ambient conditions, making it a strong candidate for scalable large-area deposition techniques such as ink-jet printing, spray coating, and blade coating. For these methods, lower molecular weight grades are particularly valuable, enabling uniform, aggregate-free films. PCDTBT remains a key material for advancing stable, high-efficiency OPV devices.
