Palladium(II) acetate(Cat No.:R036931), with the formula Pd(OAc)₂, is a reddish-brown crystalline solid widely used as a palladium catalyst in organic synthesis. It features a central palladium(II) ion coordinated by two acetate ligands and is soluble in a variety of organic solvents. This compound plays a central role in numerous C–C and C–N bond-forming reactions, including Heck, Suzuki–Miyaura, Stille, and Buchwald–Hartwig couplings. Its high reactivity and ease of ligand exchange make it a preferred precursor for generating active palladium(0) species. It is essential in pharmaceutical and fine chemical synthesis.
