Oxythiamine diphosphate ammonium (Cat No.: I045603) is the active diphosphate form of oxythiamine, a thiamine (vitamin B1) analog that functions as a potent inhibitor of thiamine diphosphate (ThDP)-dependent enzymes. By competing with ThDP, it disrupts enzymatic activities such as transketolase and pyruvate dehydrogenase, thereby altering carbohydrate metabolism and the pentose phosphate pathway. The ammonium salt form improves solubility and handling. In research, it is widely employed to study thiamine metabolism, cancer cell bioenergetics, and the therapeutic potential of targeting ThDP-dependent pathways.
