O-Desmethyl-<em>cis</em>-tramadol (hydrochloride) (Item No. 13976) is an analytical reference material that is structurally categorized as an opioid. It is the main metabolite of <em>cis</em>-tramadol (Item Nos. <span class=/itemid/>ISO60149</span> | <span class=/itemid/>15919</span>). O-Desmethyl-<em>cis</em>-tramadol has ~400-500-fold higher affinity for µ-opioid receptors than the parent compound. However, O-desmethyl-<em>cis</em>-tramadol poorly suppresses the human serotonin transporter, unlike <em>cis</em>-tramadol. This product is intended for research and forensic applications.
