N-Boc-glycine(Cat No.:R006703)is a protected form of the simplest amino acid, glycine, in which the amino group is blocked by a tert-butoxycarbonyl (Boc) group. This modification prevents unwanted side reactions during peptide synthesis and allows for selective deprotection under mild acidic conditions. N-Boc-glycine is widely used in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS), medicinal chemistry, and the preparation of custom peptide derivatives. It appears as a white crystalline solid, soluble in organic solvents such as dichloromethane and methanol, and offers excellent stability for use in multi-step synthetic protocols.
