Mozavaptan hydrochloride(CAT: I008141) is an orally active vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist that inhibits arginine vasopressin (AVP)-mediated signaling. By blocking V2 receptors in the renal collecting ducts, it promotes aquaresis—the excretion of free water without electrolyte loss—making it useful in studying hyponatremia and water balance disorders. Mozavaptan has been investigated clinically for the treatment of syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH) and has shown benefits in correcting low serum sodium levels. As a selective non-peptide antagonist, Mozavaptan hydrochloride serves as a valuable pharmacological tool in research on renal physiology, fluid regulation, and vasopressin receptor–targeted therapies.
