Moveltipril (Cat No.:I032700) is an orally active angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor developed by Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It functions by inhibiting ACE, thereby reducing the formation of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor, leading to vasodilation and lowered blood pressure. Notably, Moveltipril is partially metabolized in the liver to captopril, contributing to its antihypertensive effects. Compared to captopril, Moveltipril exhibits a slower onset but more sustained blood pressure reduction. Despite its potential, the development of Moveltipril has been discontinued, and it is no longer pursued for clinical use.
