Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone Release Inhibiting Factor (Cat No.:P000135) is a neuropeptide that modulates the release of melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) from the pituitary gland. Also known as prolactin release-inhibiting factor, MIF plays a key role in neuroendocrine regulation by influencing melanogenesis, stress responses, and immune signaling. It acts within the hypothalamic-pituitary axis and may have overlapping functions with dopamine-mediated pathways. MIF is studied for its physiological relevance in skin pigmentation, inflammation, and hormonal balance, and is of interest in dermatological, neuroendocrine, and immunological research models.
