Poly[2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene] (MEH-PPV, CAS 138184-36-8) is a well-known PPV derivative distinguished by its excellent solubility in common organic solvents, enabled by its asymmetric side chains. This property has made MEH-PPV a benchmark material for device fabrication and one of the most extensively studied polymer semiconductors. It has found broad applications in organic photovoltaics (OPVs), organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs), and perovskite solar cells. Historically, MEH-PPV was central to the first bilayer heterojunction solar cell using C60 as an acceptor, achieving a PCE of 0.04% under monochromatic light, marking a milestone in polymer solar cell research.
