Lithopone (Cat No.: M048165) is a white pigment composed of a mixture of barium sulfate (BaSO₄) and zinc sulfide (ZnS), typically in a 30:70 ratio. It is used as a low-cost alternative to titanium dioxide in paints, coatings, plastics, rubber, and inks. Lithopone offers good opacity, whiteness, and chemical stability, although it has lower hiding power and weather resistance compared to TiO₂. It is non-toxic and widely used in indoor applications, providing a smooth finish and resistance to UV discoloration in protected environments.
