Tris[2-(p-tolyl)pyridine]iridium(III) (Ir(Mppy)₃)(CAT: M140338) is a phosphorescent iridium complex widely employed as an emitter in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Featuring three 2-(p-tolyl)pyridine ligands coordinated to an iridium(III) center, Ir(Mppy)₃ exhibits high photoluminescence efficiency, excellent thermal stability, and tunable emission characteristics. It is especially valued for its ability to harvest both singlet and triplet excitons, enabling high internal quantum efficiency in OLED devices. With strong color purity and balanced charge-transport compatibility, Ir(Mppy)₃ is commonly used in green and yellow-emitting layers. Its superior stability and emission performance make it a benchmark material in advanced display and solid-state lighting technologies.
