Hexafluoropropylene (Cat No.:M067074) is a colorless, non-flammable gas with the chemical formula C₃F₆, consisting of a three-carbon chain fully substituted with six fluorine atoms. It is a highly reactive fluorinated olefin used primarily as a comonomer in the production of fluoropolymers such as FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) and various fluoroelastomers. These materials offer excellent chemical resistance, thermal stability, and non-stick properties. HFP is also used in the synthesis of specialty fluorinated chemicals. Due to its reactivity and potential toxicity, it must be handled with appropriate containment and safety protocols in industrial settings.
