GSK2647544（Cat No.:I028352）is a selective and orally bioavailable lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) inhibitor developed by GlaxoSmithKline. Lp-PLA2 is an enzyme involved in the hydrolysis of oxidized phospholipids, contributing to inflammatory processes in cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. By inhibiting Lp-PLA2, GSK2647544 aims to reduce vascular inflammation and associated risks, including atherosclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease. It demonstrates favorable pharmacokinetic properties and blood-brain barrier penetration, making it suitable for central nervous system indications. Although early clinical trials confirmed its safety and target engagement, further development was discontinued due to drug-drug interaction concerns.
