GCase modulator-1(CAT: I040562) is a small-molecule modulator of glucocerebrosidase (GCase), a lysosomal enzyme encoded by the GBA gene. GCase modulator-1 enhances the folding, stability, and lysosomal trafficking of mutant GCase, thereby improving its enzymatic activity. This compound is especially relevant for research into Gaucher disease and Parkinson’s disease, where GCase dysfunction leads to lipid accumulation and neurodegeneration. By restoring GCase function, GCase modulator-1 supports studies aimed at reducing α-synuclein aggregation and lysosomal impairment. It is a valuable tool for investigating GBA-related pathologies and for exploring therapeutic avenues targeting lysosomal storage disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.
