FFluorescein isothiocyanate (Cat No.: R001178) is a widely used fluorescent dye that covalently binds to proteins and other biomolecules via its reactive isothiocyanate group. It emits bright green fluorescence when excited at around 495 nm, making it ideal for applications such as flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, and fluorescence microscopy. FITC-labeled antibodies are commonly used for detecting specific antigens. Despite its photobleaching sensitivity, FITC remains a popular choice due to its compatibility with standard fluorescence filters and broad availability in conjugated forms.
