Firazorexton (Cat No.:I027483) is an oral, selective orexin 2 receptor (OX2R) agonist developed for the treatment of narcolepsy type 1, a sleep disorder characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy due to orexin deficiency. By activating OX2R, firazorexton aims to restore wakefulness and regulate sleep-wake cycles. It demonstrated strong efficacy in early clinical trials, significantly improving wakefulness and reducing sleep attacks. However, its development was discontinued due to safety concerns. Despite this, firazorexton provided key insights into orexin-targeted therapies for hypersomnia-related conditions.
