DL-Camphene(CAT: R019999) is a bicyclic monoterpene hydrocarbon with a distinct, penetrating aroma, commonly found in turpentine oil. As a racemic mixture of its enantiomers, DL-camphene is used in the formulation of fragrances, flavorings, and aromatic products, imparting a herbal or woody note. It is also employed as an intermediate in organic synthesis, particularly in the production of synthetic camphor, pharmaceutical compounds, and terpenoid derivatives. With good volatility and low toxicity, DL-camphene is valued in cosmetic formulations, cleaning agents, and as a renewable component in green chemistry. It occurs naturally in conifer resins and is industrially derived from α-pinene.
